Hi I'm Lance

I'm a graphic designer and a teacher and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Family, Graphic Design, Mac's, teaching, VW's, and good food, these are things I love to spend my time on. Currently I'm a 28 year old Dad with a beautiful, caring wife. We have one baby boy with another on the way. I'm currently in my last year of Uni studying Graphic Communications and hope to go back to teaching in the new year.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the LDS church, my Grandparents took me to church services when I was a child with my two brothers. My Father who served in the Royal Navy at the time wasn't a member of the church, during one of his assignments he was introduced to the church in Fiji, it's an amazing story but wont go into detail and steal his thunder. Cutting an amazing story short he started to attend church with his boys, my Mother joined shortly after. For some unknown reason we immigrated to South Africa and attended church in the Johannesburg, Roodeport area. Whilst having a varied church life in two countries I still didn't have a full understanding of what the church was about, I attended out of routine and because of the social aspect of the church. We soon returned to the UK and settled in the Chorley area close to the newly built Preston, England Temple, once again my experience was one of social and building friendships in the area. The newly built temple was soon to be dedicated and opened to the members of the church, and it was during this event that I gained one of my many testimonies that the church was true. I attended a dedicatory session that was to be conducted by the Prophet Gordon B. Hinkley, whilst we waited for him to arrive we sat patiently in our places with the other members. I had never met a prophet before and rather than praying to know if the man was a true prophet I just went along with the flow. It was only until a small, frail old man walked into the room, who's looks resembled those of the man I had previously only seen pictures, he sat and took his place near the pulpit, my heart began to change. At this point myself as a rough and tough youth started to crumble and shed tears of joy and salutations, for I knew at that moment that I had been without a knowledge and testimony that Gordon B. Hinkley was a true Prophet. It took me years to catch up with my understanding of the church, however its more important that I had begun.

How I live my faith

Being somewhat organised, I have the responsibility to organise appointments for church members and non church members to meet with the local leadership in the Chorley, Lancashire area. Its certainly a varied role and extremely challenging at times but essential, I feel like i'm doing my little bit to help other around me.
