Hi I'm Carl

I cycle hundreds of miles each month, forage through blackberry brambles, won the lottery when I married my wife, and I'm Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of five and grandfather of three. Parenting has been the most difficult thing I have ever done and the most rewarding. I love being a grandparent. Skiing in the winter and cycling in the summer are my passions. I have been married to the most wonderful woman in the world for the past 34 years and the best is yet to come.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the peace and purpose it brings to my life. I know who I am, where I came from, and where I am going. I have an identity, a purpose and a direction that I sense is missing in those around me. The Gospel of Jesus Christ has given me the framework that enables me to understand the purpose of this life. This gospel explains the purpose of this life which brings me peace and comfort. The gospel is my compass that will guide me my family back to my Heavenly Father. With this knowledge, I have been able to keep the challenges I have faced in perspective.

How I live my faith

I try and live the Gospel every day of my life. I try hard to be a good example of a disciple of Christ for those I meet and my friends at work. I try and treat each person as the son or daughter of God they really are. I teach a weekly Sunday School class for those who are interested in the basic principles of the Gospel. It is such a blessing to be a part of their spiritual growth. I learn far more that I am able to share each week in class. I teach to learn more of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
