Hi I'm Naomi

I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

About Me

I am a stay at home mum of 2 little girls. I am married to a wonderful husband with a big heart. I live in Australia but was born and bred in South Africa. I was baptized with my mom and dad when I was 10 years old.

Why I am a Mormon

Because I know that this is the only true church on the face of the earth. I know that this gospel, the gospel of Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father was restored through the prophet Joseph Smith. That he indeed did see Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and was called by them to restore the gospel and lead the church. I know that our faithful male members hold the true priesthood of God and are able to perform miracles in His name. I know that God will never let any false prophet lead his church and will get rid of him as soon as he tries, so I trust our prophets to preach the word of God in truth. I am grateful for the gift of the Holy Ghost that we receive after we are baptized and live our lives righteously, so that we can receive revelation for ourselves. Without the church this would be impossible. The church teach us how to be righteous and what we need to do to get back to our Heavenly Father. There is no other way and the scriptures teaches us so. I know that the book of Mormon is the word of God, and so is the Bible as far as it is translated correctly. I am grateful for the guidance we get through the scriptures and that it testifies of Jesus Christ. That we can know that God does exist and loves us and want us to know about Him and get back to Him.

How I live my faith

I pray to my heavenly father daily and try hard to have family prayers and scripture study. I read the scripture stories to my children and have family home evening once a week where we have a little lesson and fun activities for the family. I attend church every week and try to be diligent in my callings. I try to make good choices everyday, like obeying the law, being kind to others, serve where I can, and fulfilling my duties as a mother and a wife. I also try to think good thoughts and change bad thoughts to good ones and to not gossip. Sometimes it's challenging and I forget sometimes that I should control my thoughts and actions more carefully, but it's a process of repentance to fix those things I have done wrong and then I try and not repeat those mistakes. I also avoid bad things that could persuade me to do wrong things, like going to clubs and pubs or watching adult only materials. The less you place yourself in the face of temptation, the more you protect yourself from making stupid choices.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

A husband and wife can definitely be together forever after performing a sealing ordinance in the temple of the Lord. That is basically making a covenant with our Heavenly Father that will last for eternity. Once a husband and wife are sealed, the children that come there after will automatically be born under the covenant and will therefore be able to live with their mother and father and other siblings in heaven together as a family.
