Hi I'm Lisa

I'm a wife and mother. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My husband and I met over 20 years ago. After a short engagement, we were married in the temple. We have been blessed with 10 children. The years have not always been easy, but through it all, we manage to find joy.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was born, my mother was not active in the LDS Church and my father was not a member. My parents were both serving in the US Air Force when they met and married. I was 6 and my brother was 4 when my mother was visited by her Visiting Teachers from the ward they lived in. They helped her to realize how much she wanted the Church back in her life. She and my dad invited the Elders over and they took the discussions. My dad was baptized soon after and we all began attending Church. We were all sealed in the Salt Lake, Utah Temple a while later and 4 more siblings followed. I am so blessed to have been taught the Gospel of Jesus Christ at such a young age. So many times, I have turned to the teachings of Jesus and the Covenants I have made with my family in the Temple of God to bring me peace and comfort, strength and knowledge in my life. I am glad I am a Mormon. I know Jesus Christ is my Savior and He loves me. I feel the strength of the Atonement every day. I feel peace and power in His words and the words of the Prophets. Life is hard, but we have been created for joy. What good news the Gospel brings!

How I live my faith

Some hard things have happened to my family in the last year, but we have learned some things from our adversity. We learned that we'll take our adversity over anyone else's any day. We have learned that what doesnt break us, makes us stronger. We have learned that walking by faith does not always mean that we get to see where we are going. Often, we feel like we are taking baby steps in the dark, holding onto the word of God and His steady hand. We find comfort in prayer and we find strength in the brotherhood and sisterhood we share with the members of our ward family. We find solace and knowledge behind the walls of the Temple of God. We are so glad we are sealed as an Eternal Family and we always try to keep that perspective as we bumble through life.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

Lisa
I am grateful for the grace of my Savior, Jesus Christ. I was always taught that we all go through life trying to fill up our buckets with enough good that we could live like God someday, but that we would never be able to fill our bucket alone. That's where Jesus Christ's Atonement comes in. He suffered for us so that we would be able to make it! He took our lives upon His back. It's like He will look into my bucket and see the drops I have been able to place there and then He will look at me with such love and He will fill my bucket to overflowing. Just because He loves me and He knows that I have done all that I can do. Show more Show less
