Hi I'm Terry

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I live in the USA in the state of Georgia. I am in insurance sales. I like to read, ride motorcycles up in the mountains of North Georgia and East Tennessee. I am married to a wonderful woman and we have 3 grown children and 3 grandchildren. We enjoy travel and visiting with our children and grandchildren.

Why I am a Mormon

The Church has made all the difference in my life! I joined several years back after a friend asked me to visit his church. I was so impressed with the people, their genuineness and the feelings that I got while visiting, that I wanted to know more. Their missionaries were able to answer all my questions and gave me the opportunity to read the Book of Mormon. They asked me to find out for myself if what they had taught me was true by prayer. They gave me an assignment to read in the Book of Mormon and to pray about that also. I thought, why not? Because I wanted to know why I had these feelings. So I did just that! The missionaries continued to visit while I continued to pray about the things they were teaching me. What I found out was this, that God does answer prayers if you really want to know! The more I read and prayed about the Book of Mormon the more my prayers were answered! The next time the missionaries came to visit they didn't have to ask me what I thought or if I had gotten my answer. I told them that I had gotten my answer and then asked them if I could be baptized! It's been many years since those days and my testimony is this, that the Church is true! The Book of Mormon is the Word of God and Joseph Smith was indeed a Prophet of the Living God, and that we have a living prophet on the earth today. I Know This!! What a great blessing this has been in my life and in the lives of my family! If you want to know what I know, then contact the missionaries from the church and let them teach you. You won't be sorry.

How I live my faith

In the church we have no paid ministry. All active adult members have a responsibility in the church. I teach a gospel centered class to the male men each Sunday. I read, study & pray about the lesson material and then teach my class. I also, along with all other active male members are given specific names of families that we are responsible for to take a spiritual message into their homes once a month and make sure their needs are being met. We call this Hometeaching. We have hometeachers also and look forward to their visit and lesson each month to our family. The Church is well organized and I feel very close to all the members of our congregation, it's like an extension to our family.
