Hi I'm Katelyn

I grew up in Colorado. I am a stay at home mom, a wife, and part time photographer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to read, cook/bake, listen to music and spend time with my family. I also enjoy singing, and playing the piano and guitar. I own a photography business and enjoy doing that part time. I received a bachelor's degree in Marriage, Family and Human Development. I am a stay at home mom and I love getting to be with my kids each day.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church. Both of my parents have been great examples to me of living a Christ-like life. As a child much of my activity in the church was because of their example. As I have grown up I have developed a personal testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I have felt my Savior's love for me in my life and I have felt the love of my Heavenly Father. I have seen his hand in my life. As I have continued to live the commandments and make good choices based on my knowledge of the gospel I have experienced so much happiness in my life and have been given many blessings. Through my trials I have felt the comfort of the spirit and have personally felt the Savior's atonement healing me and helping me to move forward. I know that death is not the end of life and that gives me great comfort especially at the times in my life when I have lost someone close to me. I know I will see them again some day. I know that families can be together forever. That knowledge brings me so much joy and peace each day as I spend time with my family. Being a Mormon and going to church each Sunday and being an active member of my congregation makes me happy.

How I live my faith

I try and have personal scripture study each day. I also pray to my Heavenly Father every day. In my local ward I serve as the ward chorister. I choose the songs for the congregation to sing each week during our sacrament meeting and I conduct the music each Sunday. I love music and am grateful for the special spirit that good music can bring into our lives. At home my husband and I try to have daily family scripture study with our kids. We like to give the kids a turn to read some verses, and with the younger kids that can't read on their own we will read part of a verse of scripture and then they repeat it. They really enjoy being part of scripture reading that way. We also try to hold a weekly Family Home Evening, usually on Monday night. We will share a simple lesson with the kids about a gospel principal and sing a church song together. We also have daily family prayer. The kids enjoy taking turns saying the prayer. We aren't perfect in doing all of these things, but we are trying and I know our kids recognize our effort, because they will often remind us of something if we forget.
