Hi I'm Mark

I was raised in southeast Arizona and spent time in Korea. I am a Certified Public Accountant and love sports. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in southeast Arizona and currently live in the Phoenix area with my wife, Yvette, and our four children ranging in age from 13 to 4. I am a Certified Public Accountant and own my own accounting practice. I was raised a member of the church and served a mission in Seoul, South Korea. My experiences in Korea were some of the best of my life as I was able to share with others the message of the Gospel which is my source of happiness. It is very rewarding to help others learn answers to life's questions such as where we came from, why are we here, and where will we go when this life is over. I enjoy participating in and watching sports as well as spending time with my family. The family I was raised in as well as the family my wife and I are raising now are the most important things in my life. Once we realize that many things in life are temporary and will not carry with us when we pass on, it is easier to focus on those things that will stay with us beyond this mortal life. Those things include our famiy relationships and associations we have with others as well as the knowledge we gain during our journey here on earth. I am grateful for the knowledge of the Gospel that I have and will always be ready to share the message with others that are searching for the truth and for greater happiness in their own lives.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this church but I have come to know for myself the truthfulness of the Gospel and that our brother and Savior, Jesus Christ, loved us and sacrificed for us so that we could overcome our sins, be happy, and return to live with our Heavenly Father and Him one day. We also have the opportunity to live together as families for eternity if we follow the path our Savior has laid out for us. For me, life without the Church and the Gospel would be somewhat empty and lacking in purpose. I know that this Church is true and that the truths found in the scriptures including the Bible and Book of Mormon help us to understand our Heavenly Father's plan and our role in that plan. I know that the church Jesus Christ established on the earth during his mortal ministry was restored to the earth in our era through the prophet Joseph Smith. I know that Jesus Christ died for our sins and that the only true avenue to happiness is through following the plan we have been provided.

How I live my faith

I have the opportunity currently to serve in a leadership capacity in our local congregation as a counselor to our Bishop. This has been the most rewarding experience I have had in service within the church outside of my mission to South Korea. This position allows me to participate in the activities of the youth of the church which is enjoyable to me. I still remember and hold in high regard many of the leaders I had when I was a youth and I strive to be the best example I can be to the youth I get the opportunity to work with now. It doesn't matter what calling or job we serve in within the church as each role provides excellent opportunities to grow and serve others. If we strive to fulfill our duty and serve others in every assignment we receive, we will be blessed.
