Hi I'm Marcy

My name is Marcy and I am a wife and mother to 4 children in beautiful British Columbia...born and raised.

About Me

I am the first in my family to join the church. I joined the church at the age of 18. I am married with 4 young children that keep me very busy. I love camping with my family and crafting when i have time. I hope that you find what you are looking for here on mormon.org.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because i know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the restored gospel. I joined the church at a turning point in my life. I was just starting college and life could take me in so many direction at that age. I found the church and immediately knew this was were I belonged. I felt complete. I know that my father in heaven is very aware of me and my needs. I find strength in the gospel and the relationships i have with other church members. It makes life just a little bit easier to understand.

How I live my faith

I serve in my ward as a Young Women's Secretary and Camp Director. I feel so strengthened by the youth in our congregation and the strength of there faith. I am also a Visiting Teaching. Each sister is assigned a couple sisters to visit each month and share a spiritual message. I have learned so much from those sisters I visit and have grown to love them as I visit them in there homes and get to know them. I strive to teach my children the principles of the gospel so they can have what I did not at a young age...the Holy Ghost to help guide them and the knowledge of prayer, and that they can speak to there Father in Heaven whenever they are struggling. I feel like I am more prepared to be a mother because I have the gospel to help me and guide me.

Why don’t women hold the priesthood in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? How do Mormon women lead in the Church?

Marcy
The Priesthood is something that our men hold. They act in the name of Jesus Christ. I personally would not want to have that responsibility as a woman. My role is to nurture and care for my family. I take care of the home and the needs of my family within the home. We all have our roles here on earth and I take no offence to not holding the priesthood. I can serve in many other capacities and I feel very fullfilled within my duties. Show more Show less
