Hi I'm Sarah

I'm a wife and a mother who loves music and reading. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a college graduate staying home taking care of our two kids while my husband finishes up school. We have one son and one daughter. They bring so much happiness into our home it's ridiculous. My current hobbies are reading, playing the piano, embroidering, and playing with my kids.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a Mormon. My parents and grandparents did the same. I consider myself eternally blessed to have been given that gift. I've grown up hearing stories from the scriptures. My whole life I've known about prayer and my Heavenly Father. My childhood and young adulthood have been full of all that is uplifting and ennobling. Because of my experiences in a Christ-centered home, it felt natural and normal to seek to know if this was His church. Through prayer and studying God's word, that answer came simply and quietly. It came when I was alone, pondering and thinking. A peaceful assurance in my mind an heart that, yes, this is God's church. My earthly parents gave me a wonderful gift of raising me in a Christian home in Christ's church. My Heavenly Father gave me the gift to know for myself that this is His church. This latter gift is the reason I've stayed and will always stay a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

How I live my faith

Once a month I teach the class for women ages 18 and older at church. We learn about eternal truth as taught by modern prophets. The discussions we women have there are insightful and heartfelt. I always feel in awe after having the chance to teach and learn from these remarkable women.

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

Sarah
I know that I have received many blessings from reading the Book of Mormon and other scriptures. By consistently studying the words of the Lord, I am reminded of what is important in life, and also reminded of the kind of person I am trying to become. I'm trying to be someone who has more faith, who is more obedient, who is more loving, and who is more like Christ. Reading the scriptures helps me remember this and also helps me find steps I need to take so that I can accomplish this goal. Show more Show less

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Sarah
Yes! I know that God has again called men to be His prophets in this day and age. I have listened to and read and pondered their words and have felt of their truthfulness and divine origins. They are called to be special witnesses of Jesus Christ and they constantly bear testimony that He lives. The Holy Ghost has borne witness to my heart in quiet, still moments that the prophet is the mouthpiece of God. He speaks the words that God would have us hear and follow. I am thankful for and know that there is a prophet alive on the earth today. You don't need to take my word that for it. If you truly want to know the answer and are willing to act, you can pray and find out for yourself that there is a prophet on the earth today and that He is God's chosen prophet. Who was Joseph Smith?

Sarah
Joseph Smith was a young American boy in the early 1800s. He wanted to know which church he should join and so he found a quiet place to pray near his home. Because of that prayer, Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, appeared to him. Joseph grew in knowledge and eventually received a record which he translated by the power of God. This record is the Book of Mormon. Joseph Smith was called by God to be his prophet and mouthpiece on the earth. Through Joseph Smith, Christ's church was again restored to the earth along with all the ordinances and authority that pertain to it. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet. He was a holy man. Many voices on earth might say otherwise, but when you turn to God instead of men for your answers, you too can have the knowledge and assurance that Joseph Smith was a prophet, and that Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer, and that Christ's church has been restored again.
