Hi I'm Steven

I'm a Mormon. I gained a testimony of the truthfulness of the restored gospel when I was 14 yrs old.

About Me

I am a collage student. I am currently serving a full time mission in New York. I love to play Golf whenever I have a spare moment. I enjoy most types of music. I love my huge family of 8 siblings. I travel to Hawaii every now and then, and I love being around the ocean or water in general. If I can help it I love to smile, joke around, and be happy!

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 14 yrs old, I experienced a great trial. It truly was a difficult time for me in my life. I felt alone, and confused, and discouraged. I didn't want to feel that way and I knew their had to be meaning in it all. I remember being taught in my childhood years about how God loves me, and He wants me to be happy. I remember thinking I need to search Him out more than I am doing. I started to read the scriptures. I read from the Book of Mormon, scripture unique to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Satins. I prayed and asked God if what I was reading was true! I prayed fervently and received the sweetest answer! I felt peace rush over my entire body. I felt love from God. I felt that if I trusted in Him and did the things that He would want me to do everything would work out. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is God's living true church on the earth today. I have come to know this from doing the things God wants me to do and having faith in Him.

How I live my faith

Serving as a full time missionary in New York I enjoy being able to help those in need wherever I see them. Life is hard sometimes, and people need a hand. That is what the gospel of Jesus Christ is all about. It's about helping each other because we are all in this life together. I love going to church on Sunday, because it's a place like home. People treat you like family. I've been able to get to know a lot of good people, and I have truly connected with them and would do anything for them. Every morning I read the scriptures and pray to God. I feel the love He gives me, and there is nothing else like it. I apply what I learn from the scriptures and I am protected from a world that is degrading itself.

What do Mormons believe about family?

Steven
The crowning blessing that God gives us in His true church is that families can be together forever through God's plan for us. We believe that the family is created and blessed by God. God has given us families to find joy, and love, and a sense of belonging. He has also given us families to find refuge from the world we live in. The family unit should be the place where gospel principles and lessons are taught so that everyone knows about God, His nature, and what we all must do to have peace, and joy in this life. Those valuable teachings learned in a loving atmosphere will bring salvation to all who act on the message. Show more Show less

Who is the Mormon prophet today?

Steven
Our beloved prophet today is Thomas S. Monson. He is a prophet, seer, and a revelator. He gives members in the church council concerning our families, the world we live in, and our own individual salvation. We believe that if we follow the prophet we will be blessed and will be following God Himself. I have seen the effects of following the prophets and a living prophet today and I know it is what God wants us to do. Show more Show less
