Hi I'm Darrell

I grew up in Arizona, I married my high school sweetheart, I love the outdoors, my kids, and ............I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am just an average person. I joined the Church when I was 18 years old. I enjoy being a member of the Church. I have been married for over 30 years and my wife and I have 6 children. Four of my children are married and we have 3 grandchildren. I am a General Manager for a John Deere group of stores. I enjoy the outdoors. I enjoy photography and being with my family. I enjoy working on old cars especially Corvairs. I love serving in the Church.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents always taught me about Jesus Christ and his role as our Savior and redeemer. But growing up I always felt there was more. There were too many questions that could not be answered. When I was taught about the Church, questions were answered and I longed to know more. As I learned more I came to recognize the truth-fullness of the Gospel. I had been taught properly, I just didn't have the fullness of the Gospel. I have grown in the Gospel for over 32 years and I continue to learn and grow. I am happy in the gospel. I am happy in the work. The Church has brought me nothing but joy in my life and I have learned what it means to serve our Savior and loving one another.

How I live my faith

I love serving in the Church. Most of my years have been working with youth 12 years to 18 years old. I love the youth of the Church! More recently I was called to serve as a Bishop to the Young Single Adults. These are the group aged 18 to 31. I love serving with them. They are an absolute joy to be with! It is rewarding in helping them through life's many challenges and I enjoy watching them apply the teachings of our Savior in their life. Life is something that is a gift from our Father-in-Heaven. We should constantly strive to live the best life we can and living by the teachings of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Are Mormons Christians?

We believe in Jesus Christ. We follow the teachings of Jesus Christ in every way. Jesus Christ is the Son of God who was sent to this earth to atone for our sins. He is our Master, our Savior, our Redeemer. We strive to exemplify in our own lives His teachings. The Bible speaks and teaches of Him. The Book of Mormon is Another Testament of Jesus Christ and testifies of Him. We are followers of Jesus Christ, our Church bears His name; The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. We are Christians. Show more Show less

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Families can be together forever! We are taught in Matthew 16:19 "And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven." Death is not the end or needs not be the end of our relationships with those that we cherish and love. Just as we can return to live with our Father-in-Heaven we can also be with our loved ones once again. Those who accept the teachings of Jesus Christ can be sealed or "bound" together, as we are taught in Matthew, by one having authority to perform ordinances in the Holy Temples of God's Church. We need not be saddened by the loss of a loved one. We can be together again. Show more Show less
