Hi I'm David Jace V.

Technology nerd and educational enthusiast, I strive to improve key standards for the World Wide Web. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

All things digital have always been a wonder for me. The idea of information traveling at the speed of light from point 'A' to point 'B' on a computer or the Internet captivated my thirst for learning and studying the possibility of building upon and improving such a system. It began as a hobby, but even now I am working as a participant of the HTML Working Group as part of the W3C to try to spin up new ideas that may one day be implemented into your favorite browser. Don't be fooled that my life is all technology though. I love the outdoors more than anything. Whether it jogging a few miles, or taking a long hike, the outdoors can always be called 'Home'. Until recently, I was a studious scholar at Brigham Young University - Idaho. Now I am called to serve in the Washington, Seattle mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe that everyone should have the opportunity to love, and be loved, by God and to understand their significant purpose on why they exist. For myself, I have always relied on principles of learning. Education! To study about life and to gain an understanding of it's purpose has led me to further understand why the gospel of Jesus Christ is true. It just makes sense. When learning, sometimes the most empirical of information is when the "dots are connected", which is exactly what happened to me with the gospel. To be able to know of God's plan, to have a living prophet who is able to give direction to all people of the world, and to gain an understanding of truth by the Holy Ghost is something that cannot be described as anything but true. This understanding is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

As anyone else who's heart has been moved by the profundity of Jesus Christ, you strive to know what special skills or impact you can have in helping to improve the lives of others. For me, as one accustomed to technology, I found that I was able to assist in the work in helping people understand their family history. It became my calling until recently to help members of my church to find out information about their ancestors. Doing such allows one to understand their past, and gain an appreciation of the humbling sacrifices many attributed to their lives and other members of their family. I have seen such excitement in the eyes of others as I've helped them to help themselves find out who they really are, in terms of their past.
