Hi I'm Oakley N.
I'm 21 years old, a recently returned missionary, now college student. I love to learn, with a passion for history and political science. I live life with no regrets making the most of my life. I am pursuing a career in Political Science, with hopes to make the world just a little better...
Why I am a Mormon
I grew up in the church, for many generations, my family has been members of the church. This is not to say, however, that each of us just follow the last generation in joining the Church. Everyone who has grew up in the Church, and there comes a time when you have to take a step in the dark and discover whether the Church is really the True Church of Jesus Christ, but I testify that as one studies to come to know the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon, they will receive an answer to such prayers, and the greatest of all the blessings possible will certainly follow as they act on such an answer.
Why do Mormons go on missions?
The message that the Church shares, that we have a modern day prophet who speaks for God, that we have the true authority of act in Gods name, all the doctrines of the church, we hold special, and we desire to share the truthfulness of the Gospel with others, hence, young men at age 19 are asked to serve a two year mission. Young women, at the age of 21, also have the opportunity to serve. For the young missionary, a mission offers an opportunity for them to obtain a greater knowledge of the Gospel and the opportunity to share the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ with others.
How I live my faith
I recently completed an honorable Full-Time mission for the Church. I am currently a Home Teacher and Home Teaching District Leader in the Singles Ward where I reside while attending college. Through these callings, I'm blessed to interact with others in the congregation I am a part of, and to help them in any way I can.
