Hi I'm Chase

I'm a Marketing Coordinator, graduate student, husband, father, football and hockey fan, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a Marketing Coordiantor with an online university. I've been married for five years and live in an apartment in my city. I have a two-year old daughter and a son on the way. My interests are college football and ice hockey. I enjoy spending time with my wife, family, and friends. I play a little guitar and enjoy all kinds of music, except rap maybe, but even some rap is really catchy. I enjoy documenting things and making small videos and movies. I also enjoy video games.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in this church and always relied on my parents' belief and faith. During my teenage years and into my young adult years, I met many different people who weren't part of the LDS Church. I heard of their sadness and feeling of being lost and I realized how happy the church has made me. Just knowing who I am, where I came from, and where I'll be going after this life has given me purpose. This church means everything to me! I'm very happy and I credit it all to the things that I've experienced and learned in the church. It's given me an understanding of deeper questions that everyone asks themselves. I know that this church is true and that God wants us to have the answers to all the questions we have because he loves us. I've found those answers in the church.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing my best to follow the example of Jesus Christ and do what he would do. I have a few responsibilities in the church. I am a home teacher so I get to visit two other families in our ward (neighborhood) and get to know them and help them with whatever they need. I also help teach very young children in our congregation the very basics about Jesus and the Gospel.

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

Chase
In the Mormon Church, we have church buildings and temples. We have our regular services in the church buildings. The temples are meant for something different. They are considered a more sacred place and are to be treated as such. As members of the Mormon Church, we make covenants or promises with God that we'll obey Him. The temple is a place where we make covenants with God. One of those covenants is marriage. We believe that those married in the temple will be married for time and all eternity. The temple isn't meant to be secret, only sacred. That's why only those who are members of the church are allowed to enter. Show more Show less

What is being a Mormon like?

Chase
It's amazing! The Mormon Church councils and encourages us to do and not do certain things. They do not force us to do anything. We may choose to live how we want to live, however, doing what the Church councils brings an immense peace and happiness. God has given us the gift of agency that we can choose for ourselves in this life. In my experience so far on this earth, the happy and peaceful life has led me in and through the Mormon Church. It teaches what Christ taught. It's taught me to serve others, to be kind, to do and be the best i can, and to love all people regardless of circumstance. Being a member of the Mormon Church has made all the difference for me. Show more Show less
