Hi I'm W. Nicolich

My parents were converts and they raised me in the LDS faith.

About Me

I build database and web solutions for a living. I study evolutionary psychology and behavioral economics for fun. I like to think, read and write. I hope to help decentralize society and the workplace and allow more people to make important decisions so they get to experience more actualization and fulfillment at work and beyond. I hope to help non-profit organizations implement badging and point systems to energize and involve their volunteers and workforce.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe that the saving power and plan of Jesus Christ is "big enough for all of us" - and since God so loved the world, He'd want salvation extended to everyone whether they were taught the Gospel of Christ while living or not. Rick Warren wrote a great book - Purpose Driven Life. Since published, it's been a New York Times best seller, inspiring millions. Many Christians have caught on to the idea that there's specific purpose to a person's life. By extension, I believe that purpose is not reserved for just a chosen few - but for all. That's the perspective held by the LDS faith and I think more people will come to appreciate that in the future. Growing up in the church, I feel I was taught all the profound ideas that are in Purpose Driven Life from a young age - and the book helped me realize that I had taken some of these million-dollar ideas for granted.

How I live my faith

At my local church, I co-teach a Sunday School class for ages 11 and 12. I think a lot about welfare - as my family in the past has been a beneficiary of church welfare principles. I think helping a family become self-reliant and resilient in tough times is one of the better things that can be done on earth. As a database specialist, I've wanted to find a way to contribute to the LDS community in a meaningful way. So, I recently built an add-on tool for Microsoft(R) Word(R) called LDSWordsList(TM). Once in place, Word(R) will help you spell all those hard-to-spell words found in the scriptures - King James Bible, Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, Pearl of Great Price and Joseph Smith Translation. I hope by offering this tool free, that many people will find it a useful educational tool for their own studies.
