Hi I'm Jennifer!

I'm a Mormon. I'm a wife. I'm a mother. I'm me.

About Me

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and have been my whole life. I am a wife since 2009 to a wonderful man that I met in college. I am a mother since May 2010 and I love every moment of it. I love to take care of my family. I love cooking, reading, sewing, and just being around people. I have a bachelor's degree in University Studies from Brigham Young University-Hawaii and a Master's degree in Human Services-marriage and family from Liberty University. Education is important to me and my family. Even more important than education, however, is our faith.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this church. However, my mom and dad have never forced me to go to church. I had to find my testimony on my own. I had to realize that I needed to be a member of this church. My life has not been easy. My family is not perfect. I am a Mormon because when I was at my lowest point, deep in depression (so deep that I had to seek counseling and take medication for a little while) the gospel was there. It gave me hope. I believe in my Savior and that he did die for me. I just know this church is true and that it is the only way for me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith each and everyday. It is who I am. I love going to church on Sunday so that I can be lifted up and edified by the gospel principles that are being taught. I love to do my visiting teaching where I go and visit several sisters from the ward at least once a month. I love fellowshipping with the members of my ward and getting to know new people.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Not only can a husband and wife be together forever but whole families can be together forever. A core belief of this faith is the belief in eternal families. This is the idea that families can be together not only on this earth but in heaven. This gives me comfort to know that I can be with my family no matter what. I can be with my husband forever and that is the best thing that I can think of. He is my joy and my life. Show more Show less

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Mormon women are amazing! They are so diverse. They each have their own qualities that define who they are. Some of the women have such amazing homemaking skills and some have amazing artistic skills and some have musical skills and the list goes on. The best part about being a woman in this church is the ability to take your skills and help others. It is also wonderful that we believe in the importance of being mothers. I love that there is a big belief in the importance of staying at home with the children. Women in this church are just as important as the men. Without the women, the men would be disorganized disasters! We all work together to accomplish a common goal. Show more Show less

What are Mormon Temples used for?

To a Mormon, a temple is one of the most sacred places one can go on earth. We believe the temple is God's house and that we are able to go there and receive instruction that He would want us to learn. A lot of people use the temple as a refuge from daily life. It is a place where we can go and be in a Heaven-like setting for awhile. In the temple families are united together forever. The temple is a place where we can go and receive special gifts from God. We also believe the temple is a place where we can assist our departed ancestors with eternal exaltation. The temple is sacred and not secret. Show more Show less

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

There are so many instances when I just stop and marvel at this world. There are so many instances when I stop and marvel at blessings in my life. I know there is a God because I receive all that I stand in need of. I have never had to go without because of God. I have someone to comfort me when I need it. I know there is a God because he led me in my life to find my husband. I espcially learned there was a God when I had our baby girl. Nothing in this life can ever compare to being God-like except for the creation of a child. Show more Show less
