Hi I'm Ian

I'm a husband, a father, an endodontist and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in New Mexico before moving to Utah as a teenager. I played golf or went skiing almost daily growing up. I went on a two-year mission to Tegucigalpa Honduras. When I returned, I studied chemistry at Brigham Young University prior to dental school. I married the woman of my dreams and have three wonderful children. We live in sunny Arizona where I work as a dentist specializing in root canal therapy. I try to have a life balanced with family, work and play including golf and mountain biking.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I have learned that God speaks to prophets on the earth today. As I have read the words of ancient and modern prophets, I have felt the Holy Spirit confirm that they are speaking my Heavenly Father's message to me in my day. I love the knowledge and peace that the gospel of Jesus Christ gives to me. Through the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints I have learned that I lived with God before I was born and how I can return to live with Him and my family after death.

How I live my faith

In our home, we strive to read the scriptures together as a family and to kneel in prayer daily. This family effort brings us together and sets the tone for how we treat each other and other people. I try my best to be a good husband and father so that my children will know that I love them and that I love God. We attend church meetings together weekly and do our best to help our fellow men wherever and whenever we can. I especially feel great joy as I volunteer my skills as a dentist to relieve pain for children and others with inadequate access to dental care. Some of my fondest experiences have been while serving with Smiles for Central America and the St. Vincent de Paul [free] Dental Clinic. I do my best to follow the teachings of Jesus - "inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me." - Matthew 25:40
