Hi I'm Jason

I'm a Japanese-speaking Electrical Engineer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm attending college and am looking forward to graduation! I love soccer and mountain biking. Oh, and I also love trying to cook Japanese food! Ever tasted Japanese curry? Well, it's so good. Indian curry with nan-bread is really good too!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that this is indeed the true Church of Jesus Christ. I love Christ and his teachings. I love reading from the Bible and Book of Mormon. I feel peace inside and know that the doctrine taught is true doctrine from God.

How I live my faith

My faith is at the core of who I am--I pray with my whole heart, read the scriptures, and act as a Christian should. On Sundays I go visit a local care center for the elderly. I reach out to others who are in need of Christ's teachings. I also love participating in all the activities in my ward (local church unit): Such as church meetings, barbecues, service projects, and temple trips.

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

I begin and end my day with prayer. I also say them before eating (to ask a blessing on the food), and throughout the day, whenever and wherever needed. On Sundays, I attend church and "keep the Sabbath day holy"--meaning I do not work or attend sporting events. Monday evenings are when my family has "Family Home Evening" (also called FHE), where all the members of a family get together and have a small lesson on a gospel topic, as well as having a game and treats. What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Typically, they will talk about the "Restoration of the Gospel." This includes God, Jesus Christ, the Holy Ghost, the Prophet Joseph Smith, the Bible, the Book of Mormon, prayer, faith, and other important topics. They will teach at your pace. If you have a question, ask them. Show more Show less

What is Mormonism? OR What do Mormons believe?

Mormons believe that God is our Heavenly Father. We lived with Him before coming to earth. In order to become more like Him, and to learn and grow, we came to earth. Here we have free agency--if we choose to follow God, we will be able to return to live with Him and our families forever in Celestial glory and exaltation. God wants us to succeed in this live by making right choices, so he has called established His church, called true prophets, and answers our prayers. Show more Show less
