Hi I'm Zach

Each life that touches ours, touches it for good.

About Me

I am a convert to the Church now for ten years. I happened to stumble upon the Church and its teachings through a friend when I first attended college in the East. It was then when I came to realize that the good things in our lives can be made better and that the most important things can be everlasting. I always felt an inherent desire to be a true and loyal friend. I found that in my attempt to be that friend, I made a friend who helped make me who I am today. I believe we can never underestimate our personal circle of influence.

Why I am a Mormon

A simple "hello" is where my conversion story begins. Maybe you would agree with me that everything in life happens for a reason, even if we don't understand what that reason may be. I did not know it then, but that simple greeting changed my life for good. It was through that introduction that I came to learn about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I previously had no strong religious convictions. You may wonder what it is that attracts people to the Church and its teachings. For me, it was the absolute assurance and knowledge that because of Jesus Christ, we should follow His teachings, we should strive to love each other, be selfless, always be present in the lives of others, be caring and follow our conscience and do what is right. These were inherent desires of my own, just like they most likely are yours as well. What I found was that my desires and intentions were actually principles contained in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It was through learning about how these teachings are made available to us today and how I could make the most of them in my life by becoming a member of the Church that has made all the difference.

How I live my faith

I enjoy my membership in the Church as a young single adult by attending a congregation designated for single adults to meet, fellowship and worship together. I have the opportunity to serve amongst friends and associate with people my age who share similar trials, opportunities, values, goals and faith. Perhaps you also are a person who finds happiness in being with and spending time around people who make you want to be a better person-people who give life meaning. I find this every time I attend Church meetings and even more so as we join together as friends, watch out and care for each other and appreciate the simple things in life.

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

Membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in no way exempts me or any other member from the trials of life or the hardships that we all face. But what the Mormon way of life does offer is the strength, direction and knowledge to endure them and to overcome them. Many view the choices Mormons make as restrictive and limiting. However, it is living within the bounds our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ have given us that we are actually kept free from problems we would otherwise face. The Mormon lifestyle invites us to put our homes in order, to live within our means, to set proper and worthwhile priorities, to enjoy the opportunities life brings us and to remember Jesus Christ in all we do. It is in remembering Jesus Christ and keeping His commandments that we are promised peace. This peace comes from the absence of the troubling consequences of immorality, harmful drugs, alcohol, violence and so many other problems evident in the world today. And most importantly, this peace comes from knowing that God is always mindful of His children, that He watches over us and will not leave us comfortless. Show more Show less
