Hi I'm Mike

I grew up in Canada. I served my mission in Houston, Texas. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small town in the Alberta, Canada. Therefore I was raised in the coolest little branch of the church that I knew of, until my mission that is. I am proud to admit that I am not a stranger to the stage. Where other guys found their escape on the field or on the court, I could let go and love life through acting. Although i do enjoy playing around with a volleyball or basketball just for fun - nothing was more exhilarating than expressing myself through the lines and life of someone else. I attribute Theatre to alot of my greatest blessings and lives lessons - with my mission call to top that list. I served my mission in Houston, Texas as an American Sign Language Missionary. I didn't know a lick of ASL, which my companions could attest too, but over time my persistence and my expressive nature of Theatre perfectly matched my call. I plan to attend University this fall.

Why I am a Mormon

Nothing else in the world has given me more peace and understanding than my membership in the Chruch of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Sure i was born into a loving family who raised me in this faith, but their encouragement and testimonies weren't enough to set my mind. I am a Mormon because I learned for myself that we have a living and loving God who sent his son Jesus Christ, who also lives, to the world to make it possible for me to have everlasting happiness and peace. I am a Mormon because of the many evident blessings in my life that are not coincidences. I am a Mormon because of a young boy who asked in prayer to know the truth, and received his answer in person - leading me to pray to know that what he claims he had seen is true. Lastly, I am a Mormon because God truly answers prayer.

How I live my faith

Since my mission, I serve actively in my Ward by assisting in the Sunday School classes. I continue sharing my beliefs with those I around me, and help the local missionaries with their efforts. But above all, I live my faith by trying to improve myself each day through prayer and scripture reading. Those three simple things make all the difference.

How are the activities of the Mormon missionaries funded?

Mormon Missionaries usually pay their own way. I saved my whole life to go on mine, I even took a year off after I had graduated from High School to work to save the needed amount to go. Also members of the church pay tithing(or 1:10 of their income) to support the church in many aspects, including missionary funds. Show more Show less

Why do you have 12 Apostles? They were just meant to be around for the time of Jesus Christ, not to be replaced with new apostles.
