Hi I'm Seth Waite

I grew up in Las Vegas (5th generation Nevadan), I'm a senior digital strategist, husband and father and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My life is held up by two important pillars, faith and family. I love to read good books, stay involved in world news and civic events, and share what I am learning with others. My wife and I enjoy spending time together, eating amazing food, and having long talks. I am also so happy to be a father of our new addition, a son. I work in the digital industry as a senior strategist. My work involves mobile apps, websites, ecommerce, social media and content strategy. I love what I do and am grateful to be able to provide for my family.

Why I am a Mormon

After reading the Book of Mormon, along with the New and Old Testament I have come to know Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer. I have come to know God sends prophets and apostles to teach and testify us. I know through the scriptures that following the example of the Savior will bring me happiness. I know the scriptures are true. I have read them again and again and each time I have had a wonderful experience. This is one reason why I am a Mormon. The account given of the Restoration through Joseph Smith has sunk deep into my heart and the Spirit bares witness to me of its truthfulness. After praying to know if Joseph Smith really was a prophet and if the revelations he received are of God, I have had my prayers answered. Through the sweet and private manifestations of the spirit I have come to know Joseph Smith is a prophet. His revelations fulfill the single purpose of all prophets - To bring all of God's children to our Lord. My testimony of Joseph Smith as the Lord's prophet is a second reason for why I am a Mormon. I am Mormon because The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints brings me to Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

My community is largely made up of many good people who are not of my faith. I live my faith by trying to show what the Lord and His prophets have done for me. I try to find ways to help other people in my community whether they are of the same faith as myself or not. I find there is a great need for happiness. Every day I live the commandments of God I am happy. By living God's commandments I can also bring some of my happiness to others. At work I try to be an example to others by living the gospel of Jesus Christ. Working in a fast paced industry, I try to make sure that my family stays at the front of my mind and activities. I have seen the teachings of my faith infuse into what and who I am and in return help the lives of those that I serve. I live my faith by sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ to brighten my community.

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Seth Waite
Mormons believe the Bible to be the word of God. Every day as I study the words the Lord has spoken, whether directly or through a prophet, I read from both the Bible and the Book of Mormon. By reading the Bible, the Book of Mormon is shown to be even more true. When I read the Book of Mormon the Bible is even easier to understand. I know without the Bible, my understanding of the life of Jesus Christ would be lessened. I am so grateful for the great understanding that comes from the Old and New Testaments.
