Hi I'm Michael

I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon)

About Me

I am married and have 4 children. I like reading about history, studying languages and following college sports. I love to travel whenever I get the chance. My profile picture is from a trip to New Zealand.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the faith but the first time I could say that my membership in the Church was independent of my parents' happened when I was 13 years old. I had just finished reading the Book of Mormon for the first time and I decided to accepted the challenge in the last chapter. That challenge states, "I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true". When I asked God if the book was true, I received my answer in the form of an impression. I was told to reflect upon all the things I had been taught in the book. I felt strongly that the things I had learned in the book helped me to be a better person. The teachings in the book just felt good. This may seem like a small thing, but that feeling has served me throughout my life. In periods of doubt or confusion, I know I can turn to the scriptures and the teachings of the current leaders of the church in order to refresh that good feeling in my life.

How I live my faith

Currently, I help people to connect with their family history at our local family history library located in the church. (Locate one near you at familysearch.org)
