Hi I'm Eric

I'm a CPA and a stamp collector. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband and a father to five wonderful children -- four beautiful girls and our little boy who passed away as a child. I am a Certified Public Accountant providing business and financial management services for small to mid-sized companies. I enjoy reading, being outdoors (especially in the sunshine!), discovering family history, personal finance, philately and, most of all, spending time with my wife and kids.

Why I am a Mormon

I can't remember a time in my life when I didn't believe in the Savior Jesus Christ, but I vividly recall an experience I had that confirmed for me, beyond a doubt, the things I believe. When I was 18 years old, I had been spending my lunch breaks at work reading the scriptures. One day I was reading in the Book of Mormon about a group of people who had turned away from the Lord and, as a result, were left without his help and protection. I was stunned to find tears rolling down my cheeks as I read, and my heart was filled with a desire to not only live the gospel in my own life, but to share and help as many other people as I could to realize that same joy and safety. I knew I was feeling the Spirit of the Lord testifying to me, personally, of the reality of the Savior and my need for the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I feel very blessed to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where I know I can receive the understanding and opportunities I need to be both lifted up myself and to serve others.

How I live my faith

I have had the opportunity to serve in the Church in many capacities. My personality is such that I love to lighten the "administrative" load for others. Because of this, some of my favorite service opportunities have been in the role of secretary to various organizations or as a counselor to an organization's president. I also love to teach others about the scriptures and how to apply the Gospel of Jesus Christ to their lives. The Church gives me so many opportunities to share with (and learn from!) others. I have learned first-hand the love developed for those you serve. Truly as the Savior taught: "Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me." (Matthew 25:40)
