Hi I'm Lynn

I grew up in Minneapolis, and now live in rural Iowa. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married for over 20 years (to the same man!) :). I am a homeschooling mother of seven children. I am also grandma to one grandson. I am interested in the gospel of Jesus Christ, holistic medicine, nutrition, homeschooling, running, and reading out of the best books. I am currently enrolled in a distance-learning program for further nutrition studies. I live in a rural area trying to raise an organic garden.

Why I am a Mormon

My first visit to a Mormon church was because I had a dear friend attending, and I went to learn more as a support to him. The Spirit was very strong, starting with the church service, and then gaining strength through Sunday School. I had never intended to join; I just simply went as a support. The witness to my Spirit said I should learn and grow through membership in this church. I took the missionary discussions, and at all times felt that it was the right decision. Even after more than 20 years, I know it was the right decision.

How I live my faith

I live in an area where there are no other members, and need to travel for church meetings. My family and I try to by an example of the believers in word, conversation, and by all our actions. We visit other members of the church to provide fellowship and strength, as well as a helping hand when needed. I do a lot of work with the women in our church. My husband works with our boys and the other boys in church through scouts and other programs.

Why was a Restoration of the Gospel needed? Haven't we always had the Bible?

Lynn
Yes, we have had the testimonies of many of the prophets from our earthly beginnings. But many of the translators either misinterpreted some of the ancient texts, or there people who deleted some of the original texts. The restoration of the gospel was inspired by Heavenly Father for our blessing and growth in the gospel, so that all things will be in harmony.  Show more Show less
