Hi I'm Ashley

I've lived in Haiti and China but am a southern girl at heart. And I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I served a mission in Mesa, Arizona, have an MPA, and lived in Haiti for a summer. Haiti changed my life. I want to travel the world and help other people have happier lives. I realized though in Haiti that many people are very happy, even if they have few material possessions. Family, friends and faith in God bring the greatest happiness in this life.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family and have tried to remain faithful all my life. I'm not perfect, but I have stayed a member of His church because nothing brings me greater happiness. This is His church not another man's church. When I live His teachings, I am happy. I know that when we keep Heavenly Father's commandments he blesses us, and I could not make it without all of the blessings he gives me! I love the church, and I love how it changes lives and brings us closer to each other and to God.

How I live my faith

In my church congregation here in Virginia I play the organ a couple of Sundays a month and also serve as a "ward missionary" who visits those that are learning more about the church. I try to say hi to everyone new that I see and help people feel welcomed and loved in the Lord's house.

What do Mormons believe about family?

Everyone here on earth is one big family! God is our Heavenly Father, so we are literally His children, and we are all brothers and sisters. Here on earth we have families too that are so special and important in God's plan. Families can be together forever if bound together/sealed by proper authority in temples. The family is ordained of God, and marriage between a man and a woman is essential to God's plan for his children. Show more Show less
