Hi I'm Travis

I am a father of 6, I like geocaching, blogging, and politics. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the father of 6 children ranging in ages from 5 to 18 years old. My wife homeschools all of our children, except the oldest who is currently attending college. I work for a company that operates several ocean terminals in the US and throughout the world. Here in Utah we help provide services for several terminals locates along the West Coast of the United States. My primary function is technical support. Some of my hobbies include geocaching, watching TV, and blogging. I also spend a lot of time involved in politics. I have helped several politicians get elected, and I enjoy working on campaigns.

Why I am a Mormon

While I was born and raised by an family who was actively involved in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I consider myself a convert to the church. My parents took me to church regularly, and they taught me the principles of the gospel. However, when I was about 15 years old, I decided that I needed to know for myself if what my parents believed was true. So, I put the Book of Mormon to the test. I read and prayed about it regularly. As I neared completing my reading, I remember after praying, I felt something that said to me, "You know it is true, you have always known it." And since then I have remained faithful to the teachings and practices of the Church.

How I live my faith

I am currently working with our Bishop as one of his counselors. I have the wonderful opportunity to work with the youth, their leaders, and adult members in helping each other build our testimonies of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Who is the Mormon prophet today?

Travis
The prophet of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is Thomas S. Monson. I thought that my testimony of President Monson would be difficult to come by. While many enjoyed his stories and lessons from life. I often found them trite and oversimplified. However, after his calling was announced, and I saw him on TV News, I knew that he was called of God. I don't know that I can explain it, but I felt the Spirit of God testify to me that he will lead the Church according to God's will. Show more Show less

In whom should we have faith?

Travis
Faith is a very important part of what I believe. While on this earth we can have faith in many things. But the most important person to have faith in is the Lord, Jesus Christ. I believe that it was through the atonement of Jesus Christ that all are saved and that all can return to him. I have faith that his time in Gethsemane was for all man, including me, and I am grateful for his sacrifice and for the knowledge I have of his atonement. Show more Show less
