Hi I'm Jason

I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - a Mormon

About Me

I am married and my wife and I have six children. We are busy as are most with running a household of active teenagers and children. I teach college courses on Web Development and Business Management at a small college in Northern Idaho.

Why I am a Mormon

Because over time I have tested and proved the promises Jesus Christ has made to me as a spirit son of God on this earth and have received confirmation, as promised, through the Holy Ghost. Living prophets leads this divine organization by revelation and without personal agenda. I follow the fruit as it never lies and the fruit of the Gospel as taught by the Church is full and without blemish.

How I live my faith

I hope to have my faith be the driving force in all my actions. Our family actively attends regular worship services each week and we participate in age and calling specific activities throughout the week as scheduled. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the foundation for all that we have and do.

Why do some call Mormonism a cult?

I think that many use this label because they have been taught or experienced the church practicing seemingly 'strange' religious practices or at least worship activities that are different from their own. It is inappropriate but understandably easy to equate The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as a cult. We do practice sacred religious practices that help us grow closer to Jesus Christ and His gospel plan of happiness which includes the idea of becoming His disciple through word and action. However, each one has his or her own free agency to choose and that fundamental truth cannot be violated as it is essential for one's own personal relationship with Christ. Show more Show less
