Hi I'm Jennifer Renee

I am a paralegal, a busy mother of 4, former homeschooler, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

As a family we love to travel. We have hosted 6 international exchange students and taken them to some of the greatest places the United States has to offer. We love to explore the outdoors and relish in the beauties the Lord has provided for us. When we are busy working my husband and I run a small law firm in a rural area that keeps us able to spend a lot of time with our children. After being a homeschooling mom for so many years it is a big change to have me working even though they are coming with me every day. Every day is an adventure, but with the Lord I can do all things.

Why I am a Mormon

After some years in my youth where I rejected what my parents had taught me of God and His love for me, I began to study and pray again. I could not imagine having children who would grow up Without a knowledge of myFather in Heaven. I needed to know for myself if this church was true. After reading the Book of Mormon I prayed to know if it was true and the next morning I woke up and wondered if I would get an answer I had a very strong thought come to my mind, "You already know it is true, you've always known". It was true, everything around me Reminds me that there is one God even if they do not know or acknowledge Him. Through the years as I have given myself over to serve him my testimony of Him has grown and I desire to serve my family, my fellow man, and my Father in Heaven, and his son, my Savior Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I have served teaching children and adults for 15 years in the church. I have taught small and large groups as well as one on one in people's homes. I never thought of myself as a teacher before but I have discovered that when I seek the Lord's help I am able to teach with the spirit. My faith is in the center point of my life. I find that that in the darkest hours I can seek out my Father in Heaven and receive comfort, peace, and direction in any situation that may arise.

Why don’t women hold the priesthood in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? How do Mormon women lead in the Church?

Jennifer Renee
The priesthood is the authority to act in the Lord's name on this Earth. Only men hold the priesthood because only a man can stand in for another man (the Lord). Women participate in the priesthood blessings but do not exercise the power of it. Women serve at all levels of the church. The women's relief organization (Relief Society) has around 5 million members in over 100 countries, these women serve in their communities and families bettering those around them. Women also serve leading the young women and the children (boys and girls) from 18 months to 12 years. There is a lot expected of women in the church. Women lead meetings, committees, families, and activities every week in the church. I would say that we have more influence in the Mormon church than I've seen in any other organization I've been around. Show more Show less

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Jennifer Renee
Yes I really do believe there is a prophet alive today. Whenever there is a new prophet I've had the opportunity to pray and ask my Father in Heaven if this new man is the one whom He has chosen. It has been comforting to me to have an assurance in my heart that indeed our God still speaks to us this day and has not forgotten us, His children, here on this Earth. Show more Show less
