Hi I'm Jim Sharp

I'm cynical. I'm scientific. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband and a father of three boys. I work forty hours a week and I spend the rest of the time trying to keep up with my active family. We love the outdoors and we love to play. I think I'm a pretty average guy. Not a TV average guy, but a real life, works hard/loves his family, average guy.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know Heavenly Father is real and that He loves me as a literal and perfect Father. The gospel of Jesus Christ gives me hope and guidance in my life by answering some of life's greatest questions: Who am I? Where did I come from? Why am I here? and Where am I going? I know the truthfulness of these answers by the power of the Holy Ghost, the same power that was promised by Jesus to any who would seek to know the truth. The truth is what matters most to me. It is things are they really were, really are, and really will be. Anything else is only a good story. Since there really is a God, and He really does have a plan for us, the most important thing we can do in this life is find out what that plan is and live according to it the best we can.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to serve others. Starting with my immediate family, then branching to friends, neighbors, and extended family; to the church and community; and now to anyone willing to read this.

What is the Book of Mormon?

Jim Sharp
The Book of Mormon is a collection of prophets' writings which give an account of Heavenly Father's dealings with the ancient inhabitants of the Americas. As does the Bible, it contains the gospel of Jesus Christ. These two books, the Bible and the Book of Mormon, stand together as two separate and distinct witnesses of Jesus Christ. The Book of Mormon contains a challenge and a promise to all who read it. Anyone who will read the Book of Mormon and ask God if it is true, can receive a testimony of its truthfulness by the power of the Holy Ghost. Show more Show less
