Hi I'm Kalani

Born and raised in Hawaii, have a great family, love to surf when I can....

About Me

I love to surf whenever I have a few moments to myself, between my career and raising three wonderful kids with my amazing wife.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as an active and observant Mormon. In college I started looking for my own spiritual direction. Though I neither planned nor expected to do so for many years, I found it natural to return to the faith of my youth. Being young enough to still serve a mission, I prepared myself to serve and had a wonderful experience teaching and serving others. That service helped develop a spiritual foundation upon which I have continued build. I find I am happiest when i try to live, grow, serve, and have joy as God expects. As my understanding of God and the meaning and purpose of life continues to grow and develop, my faith and religion have proven sure and steady guides that help me continually find and create joy and peace.

How I live my faith

We try to live our faith daily, making it part of our family life: praying personally and as a family, studying scriptures giving service, and celebrating spiritual milestones and events in our family life.

What do Mormons believe about family?

Family is everything to me. Much of that focus is due to the examples of my own parents and grandparents who strengthened their commitments to their families through their faith in the Church and its teachings. The primary importance of families is one of the fundamental teachings of our faith: we believe that god instituted the family as the most important institution for advancing human society. We try to live our lives in a way that protects and ensures family happiness and joy, both in this life, and in the afterlife. Show more Show less

Are Mormons Christians?

I personally believe in and try to follow Jesus Christ's example by trying to live according to his teachings. Hopefully my actions help others decide that I am a "Christian." I like the scripture in Mark 9:38-40 that says "...Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name, and he followeth not us: and we forbad him, because he followeth not us. But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me. For he that is not against us is on our part." Show more Show less
