Hi I'm Lynn

I live in Colorado and am a professional real estate salesman. I have now lived longer in Colorado than in Utah. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of 5 married children, and grandfather to 19 grandchildren. I served as a missionary for my church in Chile when I was 19. I grew up in Utah, married, went to college there, and then moved to Colorado to take my first job, in accounting, and then gravitated into real estate. I have been here ever since. I have lived in the Denver area now for 43+ years. I enjoy physical exercise and try each day to either swim or workout at the gym to keep my body moving. I enjoy golf, reading, gardening and NASCAR. I go back to Concord, NC each fall for the Dollar General 300 race (Lowe's Motor Speedway) and visit my son and family who live there. I am very active in Genealogy work as well, and participate through my church in what is called Indexing. This is a process of transcribing census and other records to capture information which is used to augment my church's genealogical data base to assist those trying to locate their family lineage and pedigree.

Why I am a Mormon

I guess I principally am a Mormon, because I was raised in an active Mormon home, and taught the gospel throughout my youth. But as I have grown older, and served in my church, I continue to be an active Mormon because I have received my own, personal witness that this is the true Church of Jesus Christ on the earth, and is lead by Him, through his living prophets. I know that my Father in Heaven is concerned for each of his children, here on the earth, and that He is anxious to assist and support and bless us in our temporal probation, if we will just choose to follow Him and the gospel of His son. I know that our Father communicates through living prophets, whom He has called and caused to be ordained with Priesthood authority to carry His word to all of mankind. I know that His church is organized as it was anciently, and that there are prophets and 12 apostles guiding His church today to bless the lives of all who would seek it out, and choose to live by its precepts. Father will share this same witness with anyone who is willing to seek out His gospel, and investigate this, His church, even The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

How I live my faith

I am an active, participating Mormon, and currently serve as my Stake Extraction Director, as well as a Temple Ordinance Worker in the Denver Temple. So my current church focus, at the moment, is in Family History and Genealogy work. I am a Home Teacher and am responsible for a regular monthly contact of 6 families in my Ward. I have been an active church member my whole life.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Lynn
A testimony is an impression, a feeling that comes to each who earnestly seeks, that confirms in our heart and mind, the veracity of a principal or doctrine. For example, I received an undeniable impression and confirmation that Joseph Smith, the Lord's prophet of the restoration of His gospel and church, back to the earth, is His prophet, and He did see, in vision, the Father and Son, who directed him to prepare to restore His gospel back to the earth.
