Hi I'm Jason Clark

I grew up in Virginia, went to school in Utah and Tennessee, stayed in Tennessee for 16 years and recently moved to Tallahassee Fl

About Me

I am first and foremost, a husband to an amazing sweetheart of a wife and a father to 3 crazy wonderful children. I am a web software developer currently living in Tallahassee, FL. I was born in Rochester, NY, adopted into a family in Waynesboro, VA, and moved to Tallahassee after having lived with my wife and children in various cities around Nashville, TN. I am a gearhead/petrolhead and love cars. I especially enjoy cars with "character", cars that have something special about them. I enjoy sports, especially following Vanderbilt University and Brigham Young University athletics. I love hockey, and miss our Nashville Predators (though I still wear my gold jersey on regular occasions in FL). I enjoy choral singing, especially classical hymns. I'm a geek at heart and love tinkering with all manner of electronics, from computers to phones to tablets to even playing with Raspberry Pi Internet of Things (IoT) devices.

Why I am a Mormon

Though I was adopted into an LDS family, I had to find out for myself what was true. As a child, I felt the soft promptings of the Spirit teaching me what was true. As I grew older, I read the Bible and the Book of Mormon and prayed to know of their truthfulness. As I was preparing to serve a two-year mission in the Boston Massachusetts area, I began to truly understand the sacrifice of our Savior, Jesus Christ. I know that our Savior lives, that he truly did walk the earth as a man, a perfect man, and he not only laid down his life for us, but he paid for our sins in a way that we really cannot comprehend. He established a church on the earth during his mortal ministry that was then taken from the earth due to apostasy after the apostles were killed. I know that a young man prayed to know what church he should join, and as a great blessing to the world, our Father in Heaven and His Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph Smith to instruct him. Jesus Christ Himself reestablished his Church on the earth and we continue to be led today by prophets, following the pattern of old. I believe that the scripture (and old adage), "By their fruits shall ye know them" is true, and I see those fruits of righteousness, love and binding families together for eternity. I know that I have the opportunity to be with my family forever, and that is such a great blessing in my life.

How I live my faith

As a member of the Tallahassee 3rd Ward, I have been working on a program to help teach members of the church to share their beliefs and opinions on Social Media (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, etc.). I have sung with the ward choir and have loved the joy that comes from singing praises to our God. I work on the Boy Scout Troop Committee as the Advancement Chair and love being able to support our young men as they progress towards Eagle Scout. In the past, I have been the Sunday School President and helped teach other members of the congregation how to teach effectively. I think that was my favorite responsibility, as I love teaching and I love to help others become better instructors.
