Hi I'm Jacob

I'm a Mormon from Utah, and I love Christ. I am Happy to Help.

About Me

I'm married to an amazing woman named Sarah. I plan to spend all of eternity courting her and making her feel awesome (she is!). Family is super important to me. I'm studying Business Management & Leadership because I want to make a difference in the world. I was the geek in High School that took care of school computers. I love to read: fiction, non-fiction, whatever. I served a mission for the Church in São Paulo, Brazil. Amo falar português. Sei que Cristo é vivo! I love speaking Portuguese. I know that Christ is alive!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I've felt truth in my heart: Christ lives! He called Joesph Smith as a prophet. Thomas Monson is Christ's prophet today. Though my parents are Mormons, and I grew up a Mormon, I had to learn that for myself. Everyone must know for themselves. I am a Mormon, inside and out.

How I live my faith

My faith is a hopeful faith, a daily faith. I hope in Christ, so I live His Gospel every day, not just Sundays. Prayer and the Scriptures are part of my life every day. I serve however I can. I've been a secretary in my Elder's Quorum (a group of guys in the neighborhood). I've helped to take care of other people's lawns, fix a leak in someone's basement, managed computers for the stake (a geographic unit of the church) that were spread out across several cities. I've teach where I can, I learn whatever I can. I'm Happy to Help!

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

Jacob
Tithing is an ancient, divine, and currently applicable law. The Lord gives us everything we have, but wants to see our faith. He asks for a part of what he gives us back, but tithing math confuses the best of mathematicians: 100% - 10% + Blessings = more than 100% The blessings you get for demonstrating faith are worth much more than a simple 10% of what you earn. The Church uses these funds to provide places of worship, maintain those meetinghouses, and support the uplifting activities of congregations throughout the world. For me, the Lord has always provided a way to pay for what I need to. I know that blessing is because of paying tithing. The blessings you get might be different than what I get, but in all cases, the blessings for paying tithing are enormous. Show more Show less
