Hi I'm Johanna

I'm a mom. I'm a wife. I'm a Harry Potter nerd. I like English grammar. I play Zelda. I sing everywhere I go. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a 20-something wife and mother to two beautiful children. I stay at home with my children. I love to read and play video games. I graduated from the college with a degree in English concentrating in Linguisics. I love my life with my kids and my husband.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents joined the church before I was born. I always relied on their testimonies growing up. When I went to college, my faith was really tested. It took lots of prayer to realize that I actually believed everything I had been taught. I remember getting down on my knees to ask if the Book of Mormon was true. I will never forget the warmth that I felt. I know it is a true book. I know that Jesus Christ suffered for our sins and afflictions. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God because I've felt it--just as I felt that Thomas S. Monson is a true prophet today.

How I live my faith

I've helped the young women in our church plan activities and hopefully helped their testimonies to grow. I also worked with the women ages 18 and up for several years. I planned fun yet spiritual activities to help them grow closer to each other and God. I've taught children ages 18 months to 3 years which was a special blessing, and I'll never forget their love for me.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Johanna
Mormons help anyone who needs it. I remember making plans with my husband to visit my sister, but when a hurricane blew through Mississippi and Louisiana, our plans changed. We were far from the damage, but my husband piled in a van with other members to help clean up. They helped many people regardless of their beliefs. Show more Show less

Can husband and wife be together forever? Do you believe that families will live together in heaven?

Johanna
Yes, we can be together forever. We have buildings called temples in which you can go inside and make special covenants with each other and God. This is called a sealing. When we are sealed together, it means we are married forever--not just until death do us part. This knowledge has helped me so much. My mother passed away when I was 12 years old and knowing that she'll be my mom forever and that I'll see her again has aided me in moving on with my life. I miss her all the time, but I know that we'll be together in the eternities. Show more Show less
