Hi I'm Matthew Raymond

I live in Georgia. I love the beauty and diversity of the South. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am grounded in my faith in Jesus Christ. His teachings help me become better at being a loving husband, father, student, and co-worker. I have come from a very poor family, but enjoyed a richness of blessings in even the worst of times. In church and at home, I was always encouraged to learn and develop talents, to enjoy a variety of activities: drawing, singing, playing guitar, sports, reading, camping, and many more. I especially loved the youth program! We were blessed to have wonderful leaders who had strong testimonies of the Savior and His gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon by choice. Though I was raised in this Church, I remember moments of self-doubt that caused me to stumble. But it was through faithful friends and a loving Father in Heaven that my strength was renewed. My wife-to-be became interested in developing her faith, as well, and decided to speak with missionaries. As she slowly became involved, we felt an overwhelming love from God as we learned His Gospel. Little more than a year later we entered the temple to become husband and wife, together for time and all eternity. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the only name under heaven through which we can be saved is the reason why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving each and every day to serve those around me with love, compassion, and respect. I am eager to learn new things through studying the words of God and His messengers. I am blessed to serve with my wife as a Sunday School teacher to the 14-18 year olds. I love teaching because I've seen teenagers grow into young adults, firm in the faith of Christ.

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

Matthew Raymond
The Word of Wisdom is a revelation about how you should take care of your body. We believe that your body is a temple, so it should be kept clean! Things like tobacco, alcohol, and harmful drugs both physically damage the body and diminish our ability to be responsible to families, friends, and society at large. Also, eating in moderation, getting enough rest, and getting adequate exercise are mentioned. We are promised that as we do these things we fill receive health, strength, and knowledge!
