Hi I'm Lance

I'm a husband, father, and medical student. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a pretty simple person from a small town in Montana. I am the youngest of nine siblings. I am going to college at Brigham Young University as a pre-med student studying biophysics. I love children so I want to be a Pediatrician. I served as a missionary for The Church in the Torreon Mexico Mission. I have been married to my beautiful wife Marianne for a little over a year now. She is wonderful and has taught me so much through her Christlike example. We are expecting our first child. A little girl due next month. I cannot explain how excited I am. For as long as I can remember I have wanted to be a father.

Why I am a Mormon

I originally began going to church because my mother, when I was about 14, started bringing us. I went because I was obedient to her and wanted to make her happy. As time went by I began to learn The Gospel of Jesus Christ I began to do the things that I was invited to do at church, namely read the scriptures and pray. I did ask on several occasions to know that the things I was learning were true and I cannot say that I received a miraculous vision or even an overwhelming feeling but I can say without a doubt, little by little, the things I learned began to feel good and true to me. I know that Jesus is the Christ; The one that was sent by our heavenly father to redeem us. And I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the kingdom of God on the earth today, lead by a prophet who holds the keys of the priesthood of God and receives direct revelation from Jesus Christ. I know that The Book of Mormon, as the Bible, is revealed scripture.

How I live my faith

I live my faith mostly by doing the little things each day. I begin and end each day with prayer and also try to maintain a prayer in my heart all day long. I study the scriptures every day and look for opportunities to serve others. I serve in my church congregation however I can. I do my best to understand and do the will of the Savior every day. Additionally, I seek to hear and apply the words of God's prophet and apostles.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

The missionary purpose is to "Invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the Restored Gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and his Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost and enduring to the end." Missionaries and member alike seek to fulfill this purpose because as they do the people they help will find peace and joy in this life and salvation after this life. While following the Gospel of Jesus Christ is not easy, it is the only way to achieve true and lasting happiness. Show more Show less
