Hi I'm Craig

I live in Arizona. I run Triathlons with my family for fun, my daughter is teaching me the piano and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband and a father who loves to spend time with my family. My wife and I are learning to ball room dance together and we rush home to teach our children our new dance moves right after class, before we forget the steps. We train and run triathlons together, all of us, and it is a blast. I feel families are really important, we learn from each other and help each other and my family is the best part about me.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 11 years old missionaries came to my house and wanted to share a message with my family. My brother and I thought they wanted to talk with just my parents so we took off across the street to play while the guys in the suits talked with the folks. On the next visit we were invited to stay and i remember the missionaries talking about how God had a plan for families and that families could be together forever. At the time I couldn't explain the feeling that I had when they spoke of this plan but I knew I wanted to know more and I look forward to their visits. I don't remember a lot of what they taught but I remember how good and right it felt when they spoke of Christ and His life and teachings and I wanted to know more. They invited us to be baptized and we were. As I grew up in the Church and learned more I decided I wanted to be a missionary and share that same message those missionaries shared with me. I got that opportunity when I turned 19 and had a wonderful experience sharing the message of eternal families and the gifts Christ has given us because He loves us. Now many years after serving that two year mission I still enjoy sharing that message and hope that others feel as I did, and still do, when I hear that Christ lives and loves us and has a plan for us that we may return to Him and Our Father in Heaven and we can be an eternal family. This message and this church make me feel very happy.

How I live my faith

First off I am not perfect and I am sure my wife and kids can tell you as much. But I try my best to be kind to others to treat people how I think the Savior would treat them. I try and lift people up and let them know I care for them. I go to church on Sundays and participate in my meetings, giving talks when asked, teaching a Sunday school lesson or offering prayer. I enjoy visiting the older folks who can't get out of the house much, hopefully bringing them a little company and a listening ear. I try and spend time with each one of my children, listening and learning from them and hopefully passing on some advice and direction that may help them. Most of all I try and show my wife how much I love her by helping her and supporting her and telling her how much she means to me. I feel we get out of this life what we put into it, so I try and put into it, love and laughter and peace and happiness. So far thats exactly what I have gotten in return, despite rough times and sad times. The Lord has been kind to me.

How are the activities of the Mormon missionaries funded?

Missionaries are asked to save for their own expenses. Many young men and women begin saving at a very young age to serve a mission. The missionaries' family is asked to help support their missionary and members of the church can also contribute to a general missionary fund or members from the home ward of a particular missionary may contribute money for that missionary. I have found it to bring blessings in my life when I help support the missionaries. Not only do they preach the gospel of Jesus Christ but they give many many hours of service in the areas they are sent to. Show more Show less
