Hi I'm Liz

When I was young, I loved teaching children. Now I'm a mother of 7, and I love both teaching at home and in my community.

About Me

When I was a young girl, I held little preschools in my home to earn money to visit my best friend in Switzerland. I sang with the children, danced with them, did art, and had parades with them. Now that I have 7 of my own children, being a mother isn't quite the same as running a preschool for 3 hours! But it has been immensely rewarding. In 2011, when my youngest started kindergarten, I had the chance to help with music at our elementary school. I had such a fabulous time singing with them; it reminded me of my childhood preschool-teaching days. I find that the service in my community enriches my life at home with my children by helping me be a happier person. I love how my knowledge of who we are helps me both at home and in my community service. I can't imagine raising my own children or teaching other people's children without the knowledge that my every child is a literal spirit son or daughter of a loving Heavenly Father. This knowledge helps me each day personally to keep trying to help those around me have a better life, even if I am struggling personally. With all that my sometimes chaotic life brings, I still find happiness and peace thanks to heavenly help. I love seeing how Heavenly Father has continued, from my childhood on, to provide me with opportunities to serve and find lots of joy while I'm at it.

Why I am a Mormon

My membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the best gift my parents could have given me! I find so much strength and happiness by trying to follow the Lord and helping my family to try to do the same. I wouldn't want it any other way!

How I live my faith

I get energized by attending church weekly. The women in my church gather to share ideas about the kinds of topics that matter most to me--raising my children, teaching them values, keeping my marriage strong, and learning to rely on God. I pray and study the scriptures daily, which also energizes me and helps me to meet and overcome the challenges that I face as a busy mom and woman.
