Hi I'm S. Mc Cormick

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Father and a Husband. I am also a teacher. I teach math, science and health to young men who have behavioral difficulties. It makes for a challange. I have four children, and one grandchild. My wife and I enjoy traveling and seeing the country when we can. I enjoy participating in marathons and triathlons. I enjoy the challange, and when asked how I did, usually say " I wasn't last".

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church. I was baptisted when I was eight. But, at the same time my family was not "active", so I attended church very little. It was when I was a teenager that I was converted. While readying in the bible I came to know that we are all children of God, and how much he loves us. I gained a testimony that He wanted great things for us. It was later when I started going back to church, that I learned of the great plan of salvation that Heavenly Father laid out for us that I came to a testimony that The Chruch of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is his church, and has the truth and the way back. That we can become as he is because we are his literal spirit children.

How I live my faith

I live it each day. I am not perfect. I try to live what I consider the call of the Priesthood is. That is of service. I try do my calling to the best of my ability, and when called on to help in other things I am willing to volunteer and to help. I believe on of the best things you can do is to forgive. It is essential for repentance. , and as I have gotten older, I have found that the service I can give has changed. As much as I would like to I can't do heavy lifting, so I do other things.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

S. Mc Cormick
The only way to know the truth is to read the Book of Mormon and take the challange that Moroni given in Morini 10:4. That is to pray and have a conformation in your heart and in your mind that it is true. Then to live the gospel to your ability and each day you will come to know the truth. Show more Show less

What is the priesthood?

S. Mc Cormick
The priesthood is the authority to give service an act is Gods name. It is not something to take lightly. The resposiblily is great be the greater the priesthood authority the greater the service required. Priesthood gives one the opportunity to service, to grow by giving. It is not possible to use the priesthood rightously for you own selfish purpose. Show more Show less
