Hi I'm Jesse

I'm a Blogger. I'm an Author. I'm an Entrepreneur but most of all, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a software developer by trade, but write books, author a popular blog, and start businesses as my passion. In my daily activities I have the opportunity to share new and interesting technologies with large audiences around the world. Most of the technologies I write about enable building relationships with other people, and enabling connections that would not have existed were technology not there in the first place. You can read more about my expertise at http://staynalive.com. Relationships are important to me. I am a father of four children, married to my beautiful wife of 4 years. I was married to my wife in an LDS Temple, where we were sealed by my grandfather, my namesake, for time and all eternity. I believe that through the Gospel of Jesus Christ we have the opportunity to take our relationships beyond just this life, but into the next. We have the opportunity to bring our most important relationships - those of our family, into the next life, and live with them, and our Heavenly Father for time and all eternity.

Why I am a Mormon

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints just makes sense! I am constantly comforted as I live its teachings, that the things I'm doing are right. The Spirit comforts, and assures me in what I do. There is no greater Church on the earth in helping to make me a better person than this Church. I know there are good Churches out there. I feel this one is the one that will lead me on the best path possible to make me the best person I can be. This Church teaches me I have a Father in Heaven, who has a body like you and me, but is Immortal. This Church teaches me that He has a Son who died for us and suffered for our sins. That Son also has a body, just like you and me, but is immortal, and he made it so that all of us can attain perfection and return to live with our Father in Heaven for eternity. This Church teaches me that I have the Holy Ghost, the Spirit, to guide me along the way. I know these things are true. In the end this is about building relationships. This Church teaches me how to build the closest, most intimate relationship with my Father in Heaven I possibly can. This Church Teaches me to be like Him. That is why I am Mormon - it makes me the best person I can be, and it makes sense!

How I live my faith

My faith is the core, the foundation, of everything I do. It has helped organize my life and set the standard upon everything else I do from day to day. Whether it be the way I take care of my body - I don't drink alcohol, coffee, or tea - or how I respect the Sabbath, and set apart one day a week to rest, and take time to reflect, everything else I do revolves around my faith in Jesus Christ. Currently, I serve as our Ward (congregation)'s Employment specialist. As an expert in the area of Social Networking, I am able to help those in my area to use these technologies to better network their skills and find jobs they may not have found otherwise. Also, while I'm certainly no professional, I lead our congregation's choir and we perform every few months. I do these things on a volunteer basis, because they are how I serve in God's Kingdom.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

This earth was built around Families. We believe before we were born we were all one big family, living with our literal Heavenly Father in the pre-mortal life. He had a plan for us to live with him forever, and therefore we had to become like him, gain a body, so we could become like him and attain all that he had. When God put man on earth, he gave Adam a wife, Eve, to start the human family. God's purpose for Adam and Eve was to multiply and replenish the earth, so that all God's children could attain a body and become like Him. It is through that family that we are here on earth. As Mormons, we believe families can be together forever! My wife and I were married and sealed by my Grandfather in the Salt Lake Temple for time and all eternity. We have four beautiful children. My entire progression, increase, and joy revolves around the potential for my family to return to be with our Heavenly Father again, this time with perfected bodies, having grown and learned from the experiences we gained in this life and from our bodies. Therefore, it's important to have a strong family, one where the Husband loves the Wife, and where the children cling to their parents so that we can continue that progression and bring all of God's children back to this earth. That is why family is so important to us. Show more Show less
