Hi I'm Jeffrey Wayne

I'm a Husband, Father, UI Developer, and a Mormon. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior.

About Me

I am a 28 year old husband and father. I am a Front-End developer, a woodworker, a huge international soccer fan, and a gadget enthusiast.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 12 years old I prayed to know whether the Book of Mormon was true, and whether it came from God. God answered my prayer, and I have devoted my life to showing Him how grateful I am for that answer. I know that Jesus Christ really does have the power to forgive me of my sins. I have felt the cleansing power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ, when I have sought God's forgiveness for my sins. When I was 19 I prayed specifically to know whether Joseph Smith was truly a Prophet of God. I received a clear and unforgettable confirming answer in my heart that the Prophet Joseph Smith was called of God. I know that he saw and spoke with our Heavenly Father and with the Savior, Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I have experienced great peace and forgiveness through learning to repent of my sins. I know that God lives. I am grateful for the Holy Spirit that He sends to comfort us and guide us. When I feel lost, I seek guidance in the Bible, the Book of Mormon, and in the modern revelations of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, which he teaches us through their Prophets and Apostles.

Why do you have 12 Apostles? They were just meant to be around for the time of Jesus Christ, not to be replaced with new apostles.

Jeffrey Wayne
I have often been asked this question, and I feel that Jesus Christ showed us that he intended for the 12 Apostles to remain as the leadership for His Church after He had been crucified and resurrected. In the Bible we read that, after the death of Judas Iscariot, there were now only 11 Apostles. The still-living Apostles convened, and called a 12th Apostle again. I believe they were led by Jesus, through the Holy Spirit, to fill the vacancy left by Judas. When the Prophet Joseph Smith was called by God to restore Christ's church on the earth, Christ, by the same revelation, commanded him to create the Quorum of the 12 Apostles again... as well as the Quorum of the "70" as existed in the primitive church. How can I know Mormonism is true?

Jeffrey Wayne
I have come to know that Mormonism is true by kneeling in sincere prayer to my Heavenly Father. I didn't just kneel down one day and say "Is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints true?"... I pondered about the teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, I studied the Book of Mormon, I studied the Bible, and I read the teachings of the Prophets of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints... in other words, I immersed myself in the teachings of Mormonism, tested its "fruits", and then asked: "Father, I feel that this church is true... is it thy church?" ...and then one day, while I was serving as a missionary for the church, and telling someone that I believed the church to be true, I felt a deep, beautiful feeling inside my heart, unlike anything else I had ever before felt; a feeling of joy and gratitude that brought me to tears; that confirmed to me, clearly, powerfully, and with a warmth and happiness I will never forget, that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints IS the church that Jesus established. "Mormonism" is the church of God. Show more Show less
