Hi I'm Logan

I am a husband, father, and IT professional. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. My mom joined the LDS Church when she was in her early 20's after being introduced to it by a roommate. She and my wonderful dad have been married for 28 years now! He's not a member of this Church but he's been supportive of our decision to participate actively in church. I'm currently in my 20's, I'm a new husband, father, and University graduate!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the constant spiritual confirmations I receive telling me this is the right thing. Because I am a Mormon, I am constantly trying my best to follow Jesus Christ's example. The reason I know this Church has the truth is because of the Book of Mormon. I've read it time and time again. I've read it along with the BIble, and they've both brought my life a lot of joy. I've received answers to my prayers through the Book of Mormon, and I've had such a clear view of God's plan for me because of what it teaches.

How I live my faith

My faith in Jesus Christ and His gospel affects all aspects of my life. I don't believe true faith only affects your behaviour when you're at Church on Sunday, it changes the way you approach life! I try to incorporate my values and beliefs into all the choices I make, whether they be personal or professional. I think that my faith has made be a better person, especially in the ways that I interact with my family.

Can you tell me about Mormon customs: how you dress for church, what holidays you celebrate, etc.?

We Mormons celebrate holidays such as Christmas and Easter just like other Christians! We also celebrate birthday's and anniversary's. The Lord revealed to Brigham Young, 2nd president of the Church in a revelation: If thou art merry, praise the Lord with singing, with music, with dancing, and with a prayer of praise and thanksgiving. Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

This stems from the belief that our bodies are the temple or sanctuary of the Holy Ghost -1 Cor 6:19. So we avoid these substances because they hamper receiving inspiration and guidance from the Holy Ghost. Some people view this as a restrictive list that limits a persons freedom. I see it as a blessing that allows me stay in better communication with God. Show more Show less

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Paul taught "that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost. Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit." 1 Cor 12:3-4 We come to know our Father in Heaven by coming to know His son, Jesus Christ, and we come to know Christ through revelation from the Holy Ghost. Like Paul said, there are diversities of ways that the Spirit manifests himself, so it won't happen the same way for everyone. But I know that God will manifest Himself to the sincere seeker, in His own way and on His own timetable, but He will answer. Show more Show less
