Hi I'm Burke

I love being a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband and father. My interests include church, gardening, branding, design, documentaries, Vespas and various root beers.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because a loving Heavenly Father has answered my prayers. I believe that the Book of Mormon is an authentic record of ancient prophets and that is was translated by the Prophet Joseph Smith. Prophets testify of and teach the words of Christ. My life has been blessed when I have listened to and followed the words of the prophets and the teachings of the Savior.

How I live my faith

My faith in Jesus Christ informs my thoughts, words and deeds. I am an imperfect follower of a perfect Savior. I believe in justice and mercy and that Jesus suffered for my sins. I can gain access to His grace and mercy by repenting, which I have to do regularly. Attending and serving in the Church is a big part of my life. Together with my wife, we are trying to raise a family that will be close one to another and leave the world better than we found it.

What is the difference between attending a Mormon Church and a Mormon Temple?

We attend church weekly to worship our Heavenly Father and to partake of the sacrament of the Lord's Supper. We also have Sunday School and other classes that help children, teenagers and adults develop faith and strengthen one another's testimonies. Temple worship is different. Like ancient temples, they are set apart for higher forms of worship. We go there to learn more about the plan of salvation and to make covenants with our Heavenly Father.  Show more Show less
