Hi I'm Jennifer Dyan

I am the mother of 5 boys. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a family of 10 kids, and am now married with 5 kids of my own. When I'm not running kids around to games, school and scouts, I'm doing all the other things required to run a household. If I have any spare time, I love to read! I love to read to my kids, too. I also enjoy singing, swimming, going on walks with my husband, and just spending time with my family. As a family we love to play games, sports and go on road trips.

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed to be born into a long family history of Mormons. I have ancestors who crossed the country with the Mormon Pioneers. I'm so grateful for the opportunity to have been raised in the church by faithful parents. Because of their example and the example of church teachers while growing up, I have continued to have the desire to always strengthen my faith. I know that it is because of my membership in the Mormon church and its teachings, that I am the person I am today. Knowing that I'm a child of God, and that He loves me, gives me joy and strength in my trials, whether big or small.

How I live my faith

I attend church regularly with my husband and children. We have regular family prayer and scripture study. Even my 5 year old likes to have a turn to read the scriptures. It really helps our family feel close together, and invites us all to feel the love of God in our home. In church, my responsibility is to teach a class of 7 year olds. I really enjoy those children and love getting to know them. I feel lucky to be able to spend time with these precious children. It's the best part of my Sunday-we get to have lots of fun learning about the Gospel and how we can live it in our daily lives.

Why do Mormons believe in the Bible?

Jennifer Dyan
We believe in the Bible because it is the word of God. Some people think that because we have the Book of Mormon, we don't believe in the Bible. The Bible is a record of prophets who taught about Jesus Christ, and it is a record of the life of our Savior. The Bible plays an integral role, along with the Book of Mormon, in the foundation of the principles taught in the Mormon church. Show more Show less

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Jennifer Dyan
No, they don't. Although Mormons tend to be close knit, one of the main missions of the church is to reach out to others not of our faith. This is because everyone on the earth is a child of God, whether they are Mormon or not. Some of my best friends throughout my life we not members of the Mormon faith. Mormons also reach out to help their communities in times of need, like natural disasters and such. They can also be seen doing service to anyone they may come across. We try to live the teachings of Jesus as he taught, in the book of Matthew, to serve our fellow men Show more Show less
