Hi I'm Jonathan

Truth is important to me. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a thirty-something husband of my beautiful bride I met and married at college, and dad to two wonderful, active boys. By day I help hospitals protect their computer networks from intruders, and in what little spare time is left, I'm an amateur history buff. Recently I discovered I had an ancestor in the revered Mormon Battalion of 1846. Learning of his faith and that of the other soldiers from his own words in his daily journal has been a source of great joy to me.

Why I am a Mormon

It's just not for me to go to church only because the youth program is good or because I like the pastor. It's not about me. True, the gospel of Jesus Christ is about having a truly personal relationship with the Lord, but once you have that personal relationship with him, your heart naturally goes out and wants to help those around you. He taught us to bear each others burdens that they may be light. He taught us to comfort those that stand in need, and mourn with those who mourn.

How I live my faith

My wife was asked to be a youth leader for the teenage girls in our congregation. That means the boys and I really need to help out so that she can be ready at a moment's notice when the girls need her.
