Hi I'm a Mormon and my name is Rich

As a Mormon, we're also known as LDS or Latter-day Saints.

About Me

I am a son of the living God and I am an immortal being, just as you are. We each existed as a spirit before being born into this world. As all of us did, I agreed to obtain a physical body and to be tested to see if I would be willing to live by faith and be obedient to Heavenly Father without having a perfect knowledge of all the questions that I would have. I am trying to learn to be like my Heavenly Father because I love him and his Son.. Part of that process involves being part of an earthly family. That includes being a husband to my eternal companion and being a father to seven precious children. Now, I am learning how to be a grandfather to ten more children. If the Lord gives me enough time here in mortality, then I will go on to experiencing great-grandchildren. I have had several careers. After over 25 years in the real estate profession, I sold my business to do things at a slower pace. For the past several years I have been a currency trader in the forex markets earning a supplemental income while testing my wits in the world financial markets. I'm having a wonderful time with that as it is the most challenging thing I have ever done in business. Also like us all, due to the gift we have received from our Savior, Jesus Christ, I will still live after this mortal life is over, eventually in my resurrected and perfected body and reunited with members of my family who have gone on before me where I will continue to develop, learn and progress.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to parents active in the Church and was raised in the LDS faith from childhood. But as almost every person so born and raised will tell you, it was necessary to gain my own testimony of the truth of the Gospel restored to the earth through the Prophet Joseph Smith. I am a Mormon because I have a faith and a belief that borders in many areas on absolute knowledge of the truthfulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ as taught in this church. Through that faith I know that Jesus Christ lives, having overcome death through His resurrection and He has given me and all persons who ever lived the gift of immortality and the opportunity to live with Him and our Heavenly Father and my family throughout all eternity. I am a Mormon because I have seen and experienced so many things that have borne a convincing witness to me that the principles taught in this church are true and thus are the very best way to live in this world. These same principles ensure that I can better please my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and return to live in their presence etrernally.

How I live my faith

I fully accept and acknowledge Jesus Christ as my savior and I look to him as the author of my salvation and redemption for my sins and misdeeds. I am primarily a spiritual being housed in a physical body and I strive to conduct myself as one who is here temporarily and will be returning home to my Heavenly Father. I presently serve as a counselor to another lay person serving as leader of our local congregation. Because the congregation is Spanish speaking and that is not my native language, it can prove to be a challenge, but I have learned that when the Lord calls me to serve, I will accept and then do my very best to fill the calling and serve others. I strive to be faithful in all things that I have promised to do. I believe in serving others using whatever means I have available to me. I believe in being kind to all and strive always to be tolerant of others as well as respecting their right to freely choose for themselves, but I will willingly share my beliefs with others if I have the opportunity. I believe in paying a full tithe as well as other contributions to assist the poor. I also believe in being independent of others and providing for my own needs while relying on the Lord for inspiration and guidance in making my way in this world.
