Hi I'm Norm

I live in California with my family, I'm a corporate lawyer, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Texas, have lived in Utah and Michigan, and currently live in California, where I am an attorney for a major multinational corporation. I love music, reading, exercise, sports where I specialize in watching them, and most of all, my family. I am married to an amazing woman who is also my best friend, and we have four great children who definitely keep us busy.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it is in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints that I have found the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I feel so blessed to know that God is my Heavenly Father, and that He loves me and wants me to be happy. I am thankful that He sent his Son, Jesus Christ, to the earth to teach me by His words and example how I should live my life. And I can't begin to adequately express my gratitude for my Savior's sacrifice, which makes it possible for me to repent and be forgiven when I make mistakes, and opens the way for me and my family to live with God again.

How I live my faith

Being a Mormon is so much more than just a Sunday commitment. To me, the Lord's invitation to "come, follow me" is an invitation to adopt an entire lifestyle. Although I am far from perfect, I know I need to keep trying to live my life, every day, in a way that reflects the Savior's teachings. When I take a moment to consider Jesus Christ's character, I can see areas in my own life where I can improve and become more like him. One of the great blessings that comes from membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the chance to provide service in so many different ways to those around us. Because the Church is led by an unpaid ministry, every member receives multiple opportunities to serve adults, youth and children in a variety of roles, such as teacher, advisor, coach, librarian, technology specialist, choir director, and many others, including friend. As I have had the opportunity to work with, learn from, and be inspired by so many wonderful people in so many different capacities over the years, I have grown in my love for my Heavenly Father and for His children. Among the blessings I have received as I have had a chance to serve and be served by others, I have been able to learn many important lessons. One lesson I have learned is that little children truly are more naturally Christ-like. Another is that the youth I get to associate with today are spiritually so much stronger and better than I was at their age. I have learned that there are people all around us that are facing difficult challenges that we don't see or know about. And, at the same time, I have learned that there are many wonderful people who quietly go about doing much good, finding those in need and lifting them up the way the Savior would if He were here. I want to be more like those people.
