Hi I'm Paul

I'm a Swimmer. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am immobile, because I was born with Cerebral Palsy. I can still walk and swim, but I am a hemi-plegic, which means that one of my arms, and one of my legs is crippled. I like to smile a lot. It makes people happy. I take a bus to get around. I like to swim, run, watch good movies, and build quality relationships, that last. Building those relationships is easier when I can surround myself with the right kind of people. That's one reason my Church is so good, for me. Wherever I go in my Church, I am surrounded by people I would like to make my friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know I am happy in my Church. I feel like my best is good enough, in my Church. I feel like I have friends. I feel like I can get help in my Church. I feel like I can make a meaningful contribution, in my Church. It is the greatest thing I have found.

How I live my faith

I love to see my friends enjoy the blessings of the gospel. On a monthly basis I visit friends in my Church and share a gospel message with them, so they don't forget to keep the commandments. In my heart I feel so much peace every time I do that. And I know it's God's way of telling me thank you, for helping His children to remember him.

Why is self-reliance important to Mormons? Why do Mormons talk about emergency preparedness?

The reason that self-reliance is so important to Mormons is because of two reasons: First is that we believe it is important to serve our neighbors, and to be kind. And we can serve our neighbor better if we first have what we need. And then we can offer what we have to others. Secondly, we believe that our relationship with God is strengthened as we follow a prophet. And the prophet instructs us to be self-reliant so that we can prepare for a rainy day, and to become better people. As we follow the prophet by becoming self-reliant, we feel closer to God. What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

The Word of Wisdom is guidance from God through a modern prophet to all of God's children. It is also the way that Mormons keep their bodies healthy. The Word of Wisdom instructs us to avoid harmful foods and chemicals, and also instructs us to eat healthy food, like Whole Grains, and Vegetables, and exercise regularly. Members of the Church are promised that if they live the Word of Wisdom their bodies will be healthy. I have personally kept the Word of Wisdom and I have found great blessings from so doing.
