Hi I'm Cameron

I'm studying to practice criminal law, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

Right now I'm still figuring a lot of things out. I'm going into my second year of law school, my third year of marriage, and my seventh state of residence. I never really know what to expect out of the years ahead, other than to expect the unexpected and expect it to work out.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because the lifestyle works, the teachings make sense, and there are answers to questions that no one else can give me. Trying to live the lifestyle everyday teaches me to be a better person, and as I succeed, I feel the happiness that comes from living the teachings of Jesus Christ. Those teachings work together with a harmony and consistency that could not be planned by someone like myself. They just click. But when I have questions or doubts, I know it is safe to ask. Answers always come, even if they take time.

How I live my faith

I think most people wish they were better at living their faith, and I do too. Everyday, I try to be a little more patient with people who think differently from me, and I try to show a little more compassion to people. I try to work hard, stay upbeat, and express gratitude to the people around me for the positive impact they have on my life. The most important thing I do, though, is study my faith so I can answer questions when they are asked. I try to make sure other people feel comfortable and know they aren't annoying me with their curiosity. It brings me a lot of happiness to share the things I have learned.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

There's something special about giving the gift of yourself. Missionaries give that gift everyday to the Savior and to the people they teach, and that makes them happy. No matter the weather, the people, or the language giving of yourself brings joy. Show more Show less

Why do some call Mormonism a cult?

Typically because they don't know enough about it yet. Everyone has different reasons and has heard different things, but the best way to answer this question is to learn about what the Church teaches, ask God if that teaching is correct, then expect an answer. In the end, it doesn't matter what people call the Church any more than it matters what people call you. You are who you are, and no label can ever change that. Show more Show less
