Hi I'm Mario

I am a geek, father, (former) athlete, husband and Latter-Day Saint.

About Me

I am a software developer. I love graphic design and art. I am father of seven children, six of them are girls. They are my life. I also love to cook and experiment with different foods. I have recently started baking and every Sunday I try to bake something new and hand it out to my neighbors. I was baptized at seventeen. I met a young lady that invited me to several activities and the seminary, which I attended for four months, prior to being baptized. I knew right away, that there was something that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints had to offer and it changed my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because, I truly believe that it is the same church that the Lord himself established. I think that the emphasis on family, charity and the work for our ancestors is what the Lord himself spoke about in the Bible. I am a Mormon because I believe with all my being that we have a purpose and divine potential. That there is a greate cause to our existence. I think that the teachings of the church allow us to reach that divine potential. I also believe that society as a whole would benefit from understanding its principles. I also recognize the impact the church has had in its humanitarian efforts and its members have had in their local communities, and firmly believe that the efforts are divinely inspired and guided. I can't imagine living in a world without the hope, guidance and love that the church teaches its members.

How I live my faith

I am very active in helping out in my community. I have opportunities, through responsibilities in the church to visit my neighbors and provide service and assistance wherever it is needed. I also love to participate in activities with the youth of our church. We do so many fun activities from service projects around the community to team sports and scavenger hunts. I also enjoy using technology to help people understand more about Latter-Day Saints and their beliefs by using Twiitter to share highlights during conference and even having a Mormon Neighbors page on facebook, that shares events, articles and other uplifting messages from the church. I am always willing and eager to answer questions, or at least direct people to the right resources for their answers.

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Mario
Absolutely, the Bible, as far as it translated correctly, serve in tandem with the Book of Mormon to teach the full Gospel of Jesus Christ. It's principles and teachings serve as a founding doctrine and a history of Christ's church from the time of Adam through to today. Show more Show less
